The quest compass can be set to react to different camera perspectives, by toggling the “player” box on or off in the “QuestCompass” script on the compass object.  

This changes the calculation of the compass arrows from the middle of the camera view, which is what you would use in top down view or FPS to a third person view which you would use in adventure or rpg games.
